Close Encounters

::Avery’s young Robin

I was out for a walk at dusk with Shayla and Saunder was with us every step of the way. A blue jay feather… a wheatie… angel wings in the clouds… we could have walked on and on as we were both moved with all the communication from Saunder. Then Avery called. She was crumbling beneath her veil of grief and asked me to come home. We hurried back to Shayla’s so she could drive me home. As we approached the garage a Robin flew low and across our path before perching on the peek of the garage and starring at us intently as we entered the garage and got in the car…. A stillness hung in the air as we both experienced the divine gift in the visitor. My heart stilled again as I walked up the front steps to our home and was greeted by a young Robin perched on the handrail less than a foot from me. I knew this visitor was from Saunder, for Avery. A young Robin for his little sister who said she was in her room pleading for a sign from him.

It was dusk and we stood for 10 minutes talking to it and talking about Avery’s grief in the presence of it. At the moment I told Avery we should head inside she reached her finger out and stroked its belly. The Robin climbed on and off her finger 3 times and then perched for a moment before taking off and carrying Avery’s grief with it.

The close encounters with nature have been unreal. They have never been our experience before Saunder crossed. This is undoubtedly a gift. Beautiful energy forces working in unison.

::Avery’s Sparrow is the 3rd wild bird close encounter, and the second encounter I have caught on video.

Reluctantly, Avery and I returned earlier than Jason and Asher from our vacation in Bozeman. To bring some cheer after our return we went for Sushi at the restaurant Saunder had taken her to on what later became his last visit home. It was the perfect choice to lift our energy. We sat at the patio table they sat at. Avery recalled both of their orders and we talked about the conversation topics they covered while at lunch. Our evening took a lovely turn.

When we left I took neighborhood roads home. As I drove past cars parked on the street sparrows flew in all directions, but 1 touched down on a car and commanded my attention. I felt a vibrant connection to this little bird that was starring into my soul.
It was one of those moments, which I’ve come to experience often in the past 5 months, that affirms my own intuitiveness; It’s the split second of stillness I feel in my gut and my chest as my breathe catches and a flush of energy moves through me. And for that split moment I’m fully attuned to the high energy vibrations that surround me… sudden, abundant, and beautifully powerful. After a couple blocks further I can’t shake that it’s for me and I needed to turn around.
Avery took me on word that I needed to turn back. When we parked the area was swarming with sparrows. They flocked from tree to tree and rested on branches, shrubs, and parked cars. Without my input Avery pointed to the one for us… it was still on the car as I expected it would be. What I didn’t expect was that Avery would pop out of the car and walk brisky to it. Then without hesitation she stuck out her finger and the little spirit took it! She pulled it to her check and spoke to it in her “animal-talk” voice. Then she said “Are you a gift from Saunder?” and the sparrow set flight to join the others.
